Pronghorns Sign Final 2015-2016 Recruit

PRESS RELEASE–Gillette College Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Will Rider, announced today the signing of his final recruit for the 2015-16 roster.

 Robin Butler, a 6’1” forward/center from Gardena, CA signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Pronghorns next season. Butler played her high school ball at Compton H.S. where she averaged 18 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks per game and was voted the school’s Female Student Athlete of the Year. Robin has been a two-time, first team All-Conference Player and made the All-Moore Region 2nd-team in her senior year.

She was also voted 3 times to the All-Tournament Team for the Huskie Invitational Tournament and anHonorable Mention selection to the Long Beach Press Telegram Dream Team. Robin plays club ball with Team Showtime and realized that she had also played some club ball with earlier Pronghorn signee, Shy’Tyra Powell who played at near-by Lynwood HS and was also amember of the Long Beach Press Telegram Dream Team.

 “We are veryexcited to have Robin commit to the Pronghorn Program. Robin is avery versatile player who can play inside, outside, and bring theball up the floor. She is the best combination of strength andathleticism at the post position and will be an impact-type player tothe program.”

Butler is the last and 13th signee for the Pronghorns who will soon report to Gillette to begin classes and workouts on August 24th.
