Power Pole Fire Knocked Down South Of Worland

A power pole was destroyed by a fire about 6 ½ miles south of Worland west of Lane 16 past the ag fields along the canal just before 8pm on Wednesday night, June 22. According to Worland Fire Chief Chris Kocher, an individual was burning a pile of weeds which scorched ½ an acre and the blaze got out of control burning the power pole. The Worland Fire Department was on site for two hours with 2 engines and 1 command unit extinguishing the fire once High Plains Power arrived to turn off the electricity to the power pole. No one was hurt and no structures were damaged. A new power pole will be replaced by High Plains Power.
