Twin Lakes Fire 90% Contained

(Photo by Information Officer Kary Maddox) According to a report put out by the BLM Wind River/Big Hiorn Basin District on Wednesday, August 24, the Twin Lakes fire which is 19 miles south-southwest of Meeteetse has burned 1,579 acres and is now 90% contained since it was first reported on August 8. The fire was caused by lightning. The BLM Worland Field Office, in conjunction with Hot Springs County, still has temporarily closed Grass Creek Road above the junction with Little Grass Creek Road and Enos Creek Road above the last oil and gas tank battery. 153 Personnel are on the scene battling the blaze.
