Outdoors Day for Adults with Special Needs Planned

Press Release The Black Hills National Forest and its campground concessionaire, Forest Recreation Management, Inc. (FRM) will hold their 12th annual Experience the Outdoors (ETO) day at Horsethief Lake Campground, west of Mount Rushmore on Hwy. 244, on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
Approximately 250 adults with special needs will be the guests of FRM and the Forest Service at an event that highlights outdoor opportunities that are available throughout the Black Hills National Forest. 
The media is invited Wednesday, September 7th at 10 a.m. to attend this great event. Activities include horse drawn wagon rides, making s’mores, face painting, gold panning, hiking on accessible trails, fishing, learning about reptiles and other wildlife, cowboy music sing-a-long, mule petting, hands-on learning activities and games.
Experience the Outdoors Day is organized by the Forest Service’s campground concessionaire, FRM, and the Black Hills National Forest, with cooperation from Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Rocky Mountain Research Station, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks, and individual volunteers.  This event allows FRM and the Black Hills National Forest, to provide a special day for guests to experience outdoor recreational opportunities in South Dakota and Wyoming.
