LOCAL ATHLETES GEAR UP FOR AREA IV SUMMER GAMES

Press Release – Thursday April 26 – Friday, April 27, 2018  Special Olympics Wyoming athletes from Wyoming’s northeastern communities of Crook County, Upton, Gillette ,Newcastle, Sheridan, and Buffalo will compete at Area IV Summer Games held in Gillette. This competition is in preparation for the State Summer Games that will be held in Laramie, WY on May 17-19, 2018. State Summer Games is one of the four main Special Olympics Wyoming competition events held each year. Athletes compete in Aquatics, Track & Field, Basketball, and Powerlifting.

The 2018 Area IV Summer Games schedule:

Thursday April 26, 2018

  • 10:30 – 11:30              Opening Ceremonies                        Campbell County Recreation Center Field House
  • 11:30 – 12:30              Lunch
  • 1:00 –               4:30               Basketball                              Campbell County Recreation Center BB Courts
  • 6:00 – 9:00               Dinner and Dance                 South Campus Cafeteria and Commons

 

Friday April 27, 2018

  • 9:00 – 12:30              Track and Field                      Campbell County Recreation Center  Field House

Aquatics                                 Campbell County Recreation Center Pool

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend to support and cheer on local athletes as they qualify for upcoming statewide competition.
