29-Year-old Colorado Woman Killed near Shoshoni

Press Release - This morning, June 18, around 4:00 am, 29-year-old Cheryl Rapue of Wiggins, Colorado was killed when the commercial vehicle she was driving left the roadway and rolled. The crash occurred 15 miles east of Shoshoni on 20/26.  The driver was ejected from the vehicle and it is unknown if she was wearing her seat belt at the time of the incident.   The vehicle she was driving was a contract vehicle carrying mail for the United States Postal Service from Douglas to the Big Horn Basin area.  The cargo area of the truck was breached during the rollover.   Postal employees came to the scene and recovered the cargo and continued its delivery after troopers completed their investigation.

It is unknown at this time what caused the crash however troopers at the scene suspect driver fatigue may have been a factor.
