Adon Road Resurfacing Reminder

Gillette, WY– June 5, 2014 – Beginning on June 5th Campbell County Road and Bridge will begin resurfacing Adon Road. The project will consist of milling the existing asphalt, resurfacing the new hot-mix asphalt and striping the road.

Construction will begin on the north side of the railroad tracks at Highway 51 and progress north for 17.4 miles to Cow Creek Road.   The Road and Bride department anticipates completing the resurfacing project by the 28th of June.

If your travels should take you along this route, please be sure to follow the signage and the traffic control instructions. Pilot cars and flaggers will be in operation, so please slow down and be on the lookout for construction workers and equipment.  During construction, motorists will not have pavement markings and lanes maybe uneven.  Due to milled surfaces motorcyclists will want to be extra cautious while traveling in the construction zone.  Please allow extra time for travel as traffic delays could take up to 15 minutes.  Kevin Geis, Campbell County Road and Bridge Director suggested motorists may want to use alternative routes, such as Svalina Road, South Heptner Road, Cow Creek Road or Highway 51.  There will be increased truck traffic between I-90 and Hwy 51 as this is where the hot plant site and staging areas will be located.

During the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and weekends – pending weather – width restrictions will be in place.  The maximum allowable width will be 12 feet.  If you need to move oversized loads, please contact Simon Contractors at (307) 686-8644 to coordinate.
