Crews Nearly Done With Weston Hills Fire

At 12:56 PM on July 19th, the Campbell County Fire Departent responded to the area west of the Weston Hills recreation area for the report of a grass/timber fire started by lighting. 

The fire was contained at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at 40 acres. 

Crews from CCFD, County Road and Bridge and the BLM responded to the scene along with the state helicopter. Two single engine air tankers (SEAT) made drops on the fire.

Monday morning, Fire Chief Don Huber said he expeted crews would be off scene about noon.
