If you're the first-born girl in your family, there may be a very good reason why your inferiors (aka younger siblings) resent you.A new study from the University of Essex has found that the first-born girl in a family is most likely to be the most ambitious and successful in the family. And this doesn't apply to boys either. The study also found that first-born girls are 13% more ambitious than first-born boys. (Jezebel)

CRAIG FERGUSON might have been upset that he didn't get DAVID LETTERMAN'S timeslot after all . . . because he just announced that he's leaving CBS when his contract is up at the end of this year.  There's no word on who's replacing him yet.

Krista Lamlin and Andrew Reilly of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania got married back in January.  And during the wedding, they figured out neither of them knew one of the couples there . . . because they'd CRASHED the wedding.  So the wedding planner threw the couple out.  But when Krista was going through the photos last week, she found the wedding crashers had made a hell of an impact . . . and were ALL OVER the photos AND the wedding video.  She decided she needed to find them.  And when you need to find someone in 2014 . . . you go to Facebook.  So she posted the photos on Facebook, and found out who the wedding crashers were . . . because they reached out to APOLOGIZE.  They told her they were staying at the hotel where the wedding was, and were bored . . . so they decided to dress up and try crashing a wedding.  Krista accepted their apology, and she didn't release their names

Cue the locusts, because the end must be nigh: Perennial bachelor George Clooney is engaged, in the tying-the-knot, til-death-do-us-part kind of way, if multiple reports are to be believed. Sources are telling People and Page Sixthat the actor popped the question to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, his 36-year-old squeeze of about six months. The story goes that the couple were having dinner Thursday with Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, when they were approached by Ed Norton. "We're engaged!" they reportedly gushed. Alamuddin was apparently wearing a "huge ring." A Clooney rep is staying firmly in neither-confirm-nor-deny mode, saying, "I don't comment on my client's personal life."

Some restaurant owner in California thinks Jesus appeared to her on Good Friday . . . on a PANCAKE.  She has the thing saved in her walk-in freezer like a relic. Her name is Karen Hendrickson, and she owns the Cowgirl Cafe in Norco, which is east of L.A. near Riverside.  She says the Jesus on her pancake has a receding hairline, and some people think it looks more like Abraham Lincoln or Charles Manson.

You already know that you're not supposed to trash your boss or post drunk photos on Facebook.  But that's not the only way social media could hurt your career.  Here are five ways you're at risk that you're not even thinking about:  1.  If you're "liking" stuff all the time.  It makes it look like you're wasting time, constantly on Facebook clicking the "like" button.  And you probably already know this, but don't "like" anything remotely offensive . . . even if it's a joke.  2.  Your profile pic.  Hiring managers WILL look you up.  And the people they hire generally have well-lit, professional-looking head shots.  Not some blurry, obviously cropped picture from 10 years ago.  3.    You're using one email address for everything.  Don't use a casual sounding personal email address at work or on job applications.  4.  You haven't set strict privacy settings on your account.  You might think all your posts are tame and G-rated, but you still need to lock your account.  If you don't, it makes you look responsible if someone checks.  5.  Be careful of your friends.  You need to be careful about your friend's interactions with you too.  Watch out for them tagging you in inappropriate photos or writing stupid comments on your page.  That makes YOU look bad.  (MSN Living)

Maybe the only thing worse than faking your own kidnapping and calling your mom for a ransom is discovering that your mom won't pay. Police in Knox County, Tennessee, say 25-year-old Zachery Lodgson texted his mom to say that drug dealers were going to kill him if she didn't pay $200, reports WAVE-TV. "Of course, she didn't believe him," an investigator tells the Daily News, mainly because he'd pulled a similar stunt before. She called the cops, who set up a fake money drop and arrested Lodgson when he arrived to collect. He is charged with filing a false report and resisting arrest.   (via NEWSER)

Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty:  Shannen was fired from their TV show "Charmed" because of her crappy attitude.  And Alyssa compared her antics to high school drama.
Kevin Smith and Bruce Willis:  Kevin was a director-for-hire on the generic 2010 buddy cop flick "Cop Out".  He hated the experience, partly because Bruce was "difficult".  Bruce called Kevin a WHINER.
Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte:  Things didn't go well on the set of their 1994 film "I Love Trouble".  Julia called Nick "completely disgusting," and he retorted that Julia is, quote, "not a nice person."
William Baldwin and Sharon Stone:  While they were filming the 1993 erotic thriller "Sliver", their real-life chemistry was so bad that she actually bit his tongue so hard he couldn't talk right for a few days.
Bill Murray and Lucy Liu:  They had a heated exchange on the set of the first "Charlie's Angels" movie, after Bill reportedly called out her acting skills.  And he had such a horrible time with her that he didn't come back for the sequel.
James Franco and Tyrese:  Tyrese couldn't stand Franco's "method acting" on the set of the 2006 movie "Annapolis".  It got so bad that Franco would hit him for real during their boxing scenes.
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj:  Their feud on "American Idol" was pretty legendary, and it really dragged the show down.  Shia LaBeouf and Alec Baldwin:  When they tried to do a play together, it never even got out of rehearsals.  They locked horns from the get-go, and Shia was eventually fired.
Lindsay Lohan and America Ferrera:  When Lindsay made a guest appearance on "Ugly Betty" in 2008, she brought all her usual baggage and bad behavior with her.  She was supposed to do six episodes, but it was cut to four.
LL Cool J and Jamie Foxx:  During the filming of "Any Given Sunday", LL was so intense during a fight scene with Jamie that he kept hitting him even after the director yelled cut.  So Jamie called the COPS on him.  But they later reconciled.

Oops: Julia Louis-Dreyfus appears nude with the preamble to the US Constitution inked on her back for the cover of the latest Rolling Stone—but with one big mistake: There's a large John Hancock just above her rear. Hancock, however, put the most famous signature in American history on the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution, theAP notes. The Veep star tweeted that she was in a Rob Ford-style "drunken stupor" at the time—and blamed the mistake on the character who serves as her bumbling director of communications on the HBO show. A Rolling Stonespokeswoman, meanwhile, claimed that the Declaration of Independence had been inked on the other side of her body but the signatures wouldn't fit.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to make yourself smarter.  For that, you either need to have good genes or . . . ya know, LEARN stuff.  But the good news is that it's extremely easy to trick people into THINKING you're smart.  Researchers in the Czech Republic recently had volunteers look at photographs of strangers, and try to guess their IQ based on facial features.  And the results basically showed that we're TERRIBLE at it.  But one of the things they DID find was that people automatically think you're smarter if you're GOOD looking . . . especially if you're a woman.  Which again, you can't do much about.  But what you can do is SMILE more.  Because the study also found that people who looked angry were rated as less intelligent.  While people who were grinning were generally seen as being smarter, even if they weren't.  So in other words, strangers are more likely to think you're dumb if you walk around scowling all the time.  But if you walk around with a grin . . . they'll think you're smart even if you're a moron.

In the movies, guys always have their bachelor party the night before the wedding . . . and it always causes MASSIVE problems.  Which is why in real life, men are smart enough to do the bachelor party way earlier.  Not this guy.  41-year-old Jake Francis Brookes of Adelaide, Australia was getting married in February and had his bachelor party the night before the wedding.  And of course he got hammered.  In fact, he was SO drunk, he showed up to the church the next day STILL DRUNK.  And when the minister noticed he was drunk, swaying, covered in bruises, and his clothes were torn . . . he REFUSED to perform the wedding for ethical reasons.  And Jake responded by starting a FIGHT with the minister.  The cops came and broke it up, and Jake was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  The story just came out when he was in court last Thursday for a preliminary hearing.  And after he was arrested, his fiancée dumped him.
