So, Michael Bay, the director of the Transformers franchise, is coming out with a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie that is set to premiere on Aug. 8th,
I was born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's. My two favorite film franchises when I was a kid were the Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As a kid, my sisters and I would pretend to be the Ninja Turtles and, of course, fight over who would be which turtle.
The three TMNT movies were great. Like most sequels, the second and third weren't as good as the first one, but I still loved them!
Megan Fox is in this new version as April. Definitely no problem with that. The film seems to be a little darker. That is okay, as long as it still has the same humor as the first ones.
The thing that I can't stand is the costume design of the Turtles for the new flick. When I first saw the trailer, I wrinkled my face in disgust when I saw the new look as Mikey showed himself to April. Someone has compared the new look to Shrek. I just think it is a little creepy and ugly. Maybe I am just a fan of the old version. I do know that if I see this new film, that it will take half the flick for me to get the image of the "old turtles" out of my head and get used to the "new ones".
What do you think?
