At 10:44 pm last night, a 17-year old male contacted the Gillette Police Department saying that he had been physically assaulted by five males at a resident at 600 South Garner Lake Road.
The police report indicated that the victim had been invited to the residence, and then was later jumped by his attackers.
Gillette Police Sergeant Chuck Deaton explained the victim’s condition when he said, “The 17-year old male was treated in the emergency room, and it looks like he was also released last night.”
According to Deaton, the victim was diagnosed with a fractured right orbital bone. The orbital bone is seven strong bones that make up the encasing of the open socket of the eye.
When officers went to that residence to investigate, the occupants denied them entry. Officers later returned with a search warrant. “[Officers] located two 18-year old males, both admitted to punching the 17-year old. They were both arrested for aggravated assault” Deaton added.
Deaton said that one of the males cited for that assault also had some municipal warrants. A third individual was also cited for interference when he lied about the location of one of the two previous suspects.
The police report did not indicate what possible motives led to the assault. As well, the police report did not indicate that any more suspects were involved in the assault other than the two cited.
