CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Police in Casper are investigating after a woman was stabbed six times in the back while walking downtown.

Sgt. Pete Abrams says the 22-year-old woman was on her way to the Downtown Grill Saturday evening when she was attacked. She made it into the establishment, where other patrons called emergency workers.

She was taken to the Wyoming Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

Abrams says detectives aren't yet sure how many assailants there were, but they are working on a description. Law enforcement officials are also asking businesses for any surveillance footage of the area.
