The Gillette Lady Camel Volleyball team opened up conference play last night in Sheridan and they beat the Lady Broncs 3 games, 25-21, 25-11 and 25-11.

The Gillette Camel football team did not open the season the way anybody in town or across the state thought they would as they got blown out at home by Evanston 44-21. This was the 1st home opening loss for the Camels in 15 years.

The Evanston Red Devils came of the bus last night ready to play as they jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead after the 1st quarter on 3 TD runs by Scott Davis and they never looked back in their 44-21 victory over Gillette at Camel Field.

The Gillette Camel football team split up into two teams on Saturday for their annual soap scrimmage at Camel Field and even though the team has some areas where they must improve at, there were some great highlights on both sides of the ball.

Gillette Roughriders Jared Wass, Drake Kelley and Dalton Cowen were all honored as part of the 2010 American Legion all-state 1st team after the conclusion of the state tournaments. JT Zigray and Westin Hinkel were named to the 2nd team of all-stars.

The Gillette Roughriders didn't play their best game of the season, but thankfully they didn't need to! The Riders completely dominated Lovell 26-7! The Riders trailed early 1-0 thru 2 innings, but would score all of their runs in the next 5 innings to run away with the 1st round game at the 2010 North District Baseball Tournament in Cody, WY.
