Gillette, WY - A new sports team in Gillette has laced up their roller skates and taken the town by storm. The Powder River Rousta Bout It Betties participate in the unique sport of Roller Derby. Roller Derby began in the 1930s and has recently seen a surge of new participants and teams. The sport is played by women who skate around an oval track attempting to gain points by passing members of the opposite team. The others are there to keep that from happening, using legal hits to knock them off of their skates or out of play.
