Emergency officials caution drivers to take it slow this morning because of slippery road conditions.

A storm dumped 2-3 inches of heavy, wet snow over the night, and according to the National Weather Service, the storm can dump another 1 inch of snow by 8 a.m.  After 11 a.m. the snow will turn to rain, the National Weather Service says.

Today’s high is forecast to be 50 degrees.

It will be windy today with a west wind between 24 and 31 mph, and gusts up to 44 mph.

Wednesday night, the National Weather Service predicts more rain before 11 p.m. before a chance of snow.  It will be cloudy with a low around 23 degrees.

As of 6 a.m., Basin Radio Network has not received information regarding any local school or business closures.  Moorcroft School, however, will start at 10 a.m.

Emergency officials urge drivers to clear as much snow as possible off your windows and the roof of your vehicle, so it doesn’t impede your visibility.  They are also saying, with the weight of the snow, residents may want to shake snow off their tree branches.

Campbell County Emergency Management is also reminding residents to check the vents on their roof, especially in mobile homes, because the heavy snow can block those vents, causing carbon monoxide to back up into the house.
