Landfill tipping fees will go up

The Campbell County Commissioners voted 5-0 to increase the landfill tipping fee from $60 per ton to $75 per ton over the next couple of years. Hospital purchases old Rec Center

The Campbell County Board of Commissions accepted Campbell County Memorial Hospital’s counteroffer to purchase the old Rec Center site along South Douglas Highway for the amount of $2 million during Tuesday morning’s commissioners meeting.

Landfill fees may go up 25 percent

Landfill tipping fees may increase by as much as 25 percent.  If the Campbell County Commissioners approve such a rate hike, the owner of a local garbage disposal company believes many people will begin dumping their garbage alongside the road. Gillette Ward revisions approved

The recently approved revisions to the City of Gillette’s three wards has decreased the population variations between each ward.The Gillette City Council unanimously passed an ordinance revising the city’s three wards during Monday’s city council meeting to conform to the state’s new voting precincts.

City council split over Field of Dreams resolution

City councilmembers discussed a potential plan that would construct the fastpitch softball fields proposed in the Field of Dreams master plan. Those fields could then be used to accommodate both women’s fastpitch softball and Little League baseball.The Field of Dreams was a topic of discussion during Monday night’s Gillette City Council workshop. While no official vote took place, council members were asked to express their feelings on a resolution supporting plans for the project.
