The No. 2 Lady Camels had a great start to the game Friday night at the Castle of Chaos. Gillette (15-4, 6-0) scored 24 points before the Lady Bison of Cheyenne South (3-16, 0-6) could get on the board. Gillette finished the game on top, 77-33.
The Lady Bison were held scoreless until there was 1:52 left in the first quarter. Gillette led 30-6 after the first quarter and 48-12 at halftime. Gillette was in control throughout the game, with everyone for the Lady Camels getting playing time. Ten of Gillette's 11 players put points on the board, as six players finished above their points-per-game average. Sierra Toms had the game high 23 points. As for Cheyenne South, only four players were able to score on Gillette.
The Lady Camels were called for only four fouls in the first half, something Head Coach Mitch Holst wanted to see an improvement on in the contest compared to previous games.
Gillette takes on No. 3 Laramie Saturday afternoon at the Castle of Chaos . The Lady Camels defeated the Lady Plainsmen on the road in overtime earlier this season.
