KeKe Wright and Iesha Greer both had a great game Wednesday night, as they both finished with double-doubles. Wright led the Pronghorns (15-9, 7-3) with 22 points and 11 boards. Greer scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Add Kim Caywood's 11 rebounds and Gillette College had more boards from three players, than the whole team from Miles Community College (17-7, 5-5) in the 62-55 victory for the Pronghorns.
Gillette College's ability to get 58 rebounds, 38 on defense, compared to the Lady Pioneers 29 as well as shooting 9 percent better from the floor helped give Gillette College a big victory on the road.
That puts the Pronghorns at 7-3 in Region IX action, two games behind Casper College and Sheridan College, who are both 9-1 in Region IX games. Gillette College lost to Casper at home and Sheridan on the road earlier this season. Gillette will be traveling to Casper on the 22nd and its last game of the season is on the 28th at the South Campus against Sheridan.
Before Gillette College gets to take on Casper or Sheridan, it must face Western Wyoming Community College Saturday on the road. Western is right behind the Pronghorns at 7-4 in Region IX contests.
