Joint Appropriations Committee considers budget

Rep. Rosie Berger, R-Big Horn, says she expects the Joint Appropriations Committee will finish its work on Gov. Matt Mead's budget recommendations by the end of Friday.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Members of the Wyoming Legislature's Joint Appropriations Committee are scheduled to wrap up their work on Gov. Matt Mead's budget recommendations.

Rep. Rosie Berger, R-Big Horn, says she expects the committee will finish its work by the end of Friday. Berger is co-chairman of the joint committee.

The committee has spent weeks reviewing Mead's proposed $3.4 billion state funds budget.

The committee has been recommending budget cuts in response to recent state projections that call for lower natural gas prices to result in $100 million less state revenue over the two-year budget period that starts in July.
