CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Department of Health is still preparing informative letters for the 5,000 families whose personal information was discovered to be accessible online three weeks ago.
Spokeswoman Kim Deti said Wednesday that the letters will contain detailed information for the families to sign up for credit-monitoring services paid for by the state.
The department announced Feb. 5 that an administrative error caused the names, birthdays, Social Security numbers, addresses and phone numbers of about 9,000 children in state's Kid Care CHIP program to be accessible on an unsecured Web page.
Deti says there have been no reports of people misusing the information.
The department hopes to send letters this week to the families who could have been effected.
