BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - A packed train has slammed into the end of the line in Buenos Aires' busy Once station, injuring hundreds of morning commuters.
The commuter train apparently came in too fast and hit the barrier at the end of the platform, smashing the front of the engine and crunching the first car behind it. That's the car where passengers make space for bicycles. Survivors tell the TeleNoticias channel that many people were injured in a jumble of metal by the force of Wednesday's hard stop.
Buenos Aires Emergency Medical Services Director Alberto Crescenti tells Radio la Red that more than 300 people have been injured among the thousands who remain stuck in the train.
