Press Release - With continued growth in reported pertussis (whooping cough) cases this year, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) is encouraging awareness of the disease and vaccination to help protect vulnerable residents, especially infants.

Yesterday the Gillette Police Department issued a reckless endangerment citation to a 42-year-old man after an apparent traffic dispute. The Basin's first forest fire of the season is growing. The Dilworth fire was reported early Sunday afternoon in the vicinity of Snowshoe Creek on the Shoshone National Forest.

Bighorn National Forest Managers say that bear activity on the forest is continuing to rise. A spike of black bear sightings near campgrounds, private cabins, and lodges has both forest managers and the Game and Fish Department concerned for the safety of forest visitors.
