On October 19th, at approximately 6:00 p.m. near mile post 266 on Interstate 80 westbound, Wyoming Highway Patrol K-9 "Robbie" and Trooper Dave Chatfield were engaged in a K-9 deployment on a stopped vehicle. This morning the Campbell County Sheriff's Office released information on a fatal mine accident. Corporal Quentin Reynolds said an emergency call was placed from the North Antelope Rochelle on October 18th, 2014 about 10:36 p.m. Reynolds said a 51-year-old man died in a vehicle accident.

The Sheridan College Board of Trustees last week voted to name the road leading to the new rodeo arena "Chris LeDoux Way". LeDoux, who passed away in 2005, was a Sheridan College rodeo team member, and won the bareback championship at the Intercollegiate Rodeo Association finals in 1969 in Deadwood. LeDoux was also named a student of the month by Sheridan College the same year.

This past Friday, an incident at the Trails End Motel in Sheridan prompted the need for a hazardous materials response, which came from Sheridan Fire Rescue. The department took the call seriously, as they do every call of its type. We wondered how the team works and what type of incidents they most respond to. We sat down with Sheridan Fire Rescue Chief Terry Lenhart yesterday to discuss the team. While a majority of Monday night's Sheridan City Council meeting was set aside for discussing another liquor license issue, something of which we'll touch on later this morning, the Sheridan Inn once again became a topic discussed. It has been some time since a report on the progress at the Inn was given, and there is much good news, according to co-owner Bob Townsend. Townsend spoke to Council during what was the renewal for a liquor license for the Inn's proposed restaurant. He stated they wanted to maintain 1/3 ownership in the restaurant...

The Powder River Basin Resource Council, which began in Johnson County on Crazy Woman Creek, is hosting its 42nd Annual Meeting soon. Bill Bensel stopped by Community Speaks this morning to discuss both the Council, and the meeting itself. PRBRC works on agriculture issues, property rights, natural resources, and much more.
