Traci Ann Schladweiler has been selected for a James Madison Fellowship. Ms. Schladweiler is a teacher at Wright Junior-Senior High School. The Madison Fellowship is awarded to one teacher in each state. Ms. Schladweiler is Wyoming’s recipient for the 2014 school year. The fellowship is a grant of $24,000 dollars for the recipient to earn a Master’s degree in American government

Yesterday the Gillette Police Department issued a reckless endangerment citation to a 42-year-old man after an apparent traffic dispute. A one-vehicle rollover that occurred 4 miles south of Basin off of milepost 192, Highway 20 last Friday night, July 18 claimed the life of 28-year-old Nancy Jeanneatte Lassiter of Basin, while 33-year-old Crystal Renee Schantle of Basin was Life Flighted to the Billings Clinic in Montana. The Basin's first forest fire of the season is growing. The Dilworth fire was reported early Sunday afternoon in the vicinity of Snowshoe Creek on the Shoshone National Forest.

Bighorn National Forest Managers say that bear activity on the forest is continuing to rise. A spike of black bear sightings near campgrounds, private cabins, and lodges has both forest managers and the Game and Fish Department concerned for the safety of forest visitors.
