Press Release – Gillette- Campbell County Airport Report today announced air passenger traffic for the first six(6) months of 2015 have increased by approximately 19% compared to the first six(6) months of 2014. During June, the airport welcomed 5,156 arriving and departing passengers. Year to date, the airport has served 29,761 travelers.

July 29, 2015 - A 29-year-old Gillette man was killed this morning when his 2014 Yamaha motorcycle collided with a Kenworth semi. Gillette Police Corporal Becky Elger said officers responded about 4:20 am.

Pig Wrestling had a good turnout at the Fairgrounds of the Washakie County Fair on Monday night, July 27. The Hog Wild team of Wyatt Wyman, Rylan Mocko, Bryan Viktorin and David Herrera received 1st place honors in the Juniors Division with a time of 9.64 seconds, placing 2nd was the Sundown Services squad of Bryce Salzman, Dominique Garay, Julie Seidel and Talon Anderson with a time of 10.88

Lightning caused two grass fires to ignite outside of Worland on Monday night, July 27. Worland Fire Chief Chris Kocher said that he and his crew were paged a little after 5pm to put out a fire that took place in a barley field off of Highway 20 South outside of Worland behind Vega Brothers. 4H activities for the Washakie County Fair were back in full swing on Saturday, July 25 and throughout the day on Monday, July 27 at the Fairgrounds. A grass fire broke out Northwest of Ten Sleep off of Highway 16 East on Monday morning, July 27. According to Worland Fire Chief Chris Kocher, he along with Firemen from the Worland Fire Department along with Firemen from the Ten Sleep Fire Department were paged to the scene a little after 2am and didn’t leave the site until sometime between 6am and 7am.
