At last night’s Gillette City Council pre-meeting, the council continued their discussion on a possible name change for the Field of Dreams.

“Several weeks ago, in fact maybe even a few months ago, the council suggested that a number of citizens have come forward and proposed that a name be formally adopted for the Field of Dreams or Gillette Baseball Softball Complex.” ---

At 9:47 p.m. on May 5th, the Campbell County Fire Department responded to Interstate 90 (about marker 120) for the report of a fatal two vehicle collision resulting in a vehicle on fire.

Fire department personnel arrived on scene to find a passenger vehicle which had struck a semi trailer. The passenger vehicle was on fire and the fire extended to the contents of the trailer.

The Wyoming Game and Fish is reminding big game hunters from both Wyoming and other states that a major change to this year's application deadline has happened. The deadline to submit applications for limited quota deer and antelope is June 1st. The previous deadline, March 15th, has been bumped up to June to match resident deadlines. Read more

At about 12:30 today the Special Olympics athletes and their law enforcement partners passed the torch enroute to Laramie for the Special Olympics which begins Thursday. The three teams converged at the Bozeman Trail Steakhouse in Buffalo to pass the torch on to Buffalo. From there, it will go to Casper where another run to Wheatland will take place beginning tomorrow morning. Read more

The Wyoming Highway Patrol, via their weekend media releases, indicates that a fatal accident occurred south of Sheridan near mile marker 31 Saturday evening. The accident, according to the Highway Patrol happened at 8:52 pm.
The vehicle involved was eastbound (south) on I-90 when it drifted off the right side of the roadway. Read more
