The emergency street closure on second street has ended. A report on the accident from the Gillette Police Department for media is expected tomorrow morning after 9 am.

Due to an accident at the Gillette Avenue/2nd Street intersection, 2nd Street from Warren Avenue to Kendrick Avenue will be closed to allow for further investigation.

Press Release - A two vehicle head on crash on September 20th resulted in the death of 29 year old Chad D. Nobach of Gillette, Wyoming. The crash occurred approximately 20 miles south of Gillette at mile post 88.75 on WY 59 at 7:09 p.m.. Mr. Nobach was the front seat passenger in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma truck being driven by 22 year old Braydon W. Donahoo of Gillette.

The first significant snow storm of well, the late summer early fall arrived this morning, and with it came school delays and power outages across northern Wyoming. Most of the delays seemed to be concentrated on the heavier hit areas, Story and Buffalo in particular. Power was out in Story for at least several hours, and continued to be sporadic across Buffalo, enough though to close the town's schools for the day. Parts of northern Sheridan County were dark as well. To blame were tree limbs that couldn't bear the weight of the heavy snow. So was it as bad as we had predicted? Earlier this morning, a tanker truck hauling 5,500 gallons of latex crashed and rolled at mile-marker 71 on US14A, which is approximately 25 miles east of Lovell. 59-year-old Dennis Spurbeck of New Philadelphia, Ohio, was reported to be negotiating a curved section on the highway, which has a 10% downgrade.
