Press Release - A fatal crash west of Rock Springs, Wyoming on June 28th has resulted in the death of Heather Fletcher, an eight year old girl from Rock Springs. The crash occurred at 12:40 p.m. on the 28th near mile post 97 on Interstate 80 approximately five miles west of Rock Springs.

Press Release - The City of Gillette Online Utility Billing and Pay-By-Phone services will go offline tonight at 5:00 p.m. These services will remain offline until 8:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1st. This outage will also affect non-emergency requests submitted through Citizen Self Service (CSS).

The reason for this outage is to allow the Finance Department to balance the utility billing accounts

Washakie County School Board District #1 was in regular session on Monday night, June 27 in the Central Office. A lot of kids from the Elementary Schools, the Worland Middle School and Worland High School were recognized for earning perfect attendance during the 2015-16 school year, Saydria Russell, Emily Keller, Haley Schneider, Casey Wassum and Hannah Ozmon were honored for taking 3A All-State

The 12th Annual Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA Rodeo had a very good turnout on Friday night, June 24 and Saturday night, June 25 at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. A power pole was destroyed by a fire about 6 ½ miles south of Worland west of Lane 16 past the ag fields along the canal just before 8pm on Wednesday night, June 22. According to Worland Fire Chief Chris Kocher, an individual was burning a pile of weeds which scorched ½ an acre and the blaze got out of control burning the power pole. The Worland City Council was in regular session on Tuesday night, June 21 in the City Hall Chambers. The Council approved resolution 2016-2 consisting of the 3rd Reading of the upcoming 2016-17 fiscal year budget of $12,272,603. City Clerk and Treasurer Tracy Glanz stated that the increase in sanitation and capital projects is one of the reasons why the budget is up by over $1.1 million
