 CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Matt Mead reminded the U.S. Department of Interior and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that under the Wild Free Roaming Horse and Burro Act the federal government must remove excess horses from its Herd Management Areas. At 9:07 p.m.. on August 25th, the Campbell County Fire Department responded to 3575 North Garner Lake Road for a structure fire. Upon arrival CCFD found a large tank of oil on fire as well as a building housing processing equipment. The fire was brought under control in approximately 90 minutes. Two people were injured in the fire and cause and damage estimates was still being investigated

Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a theft that occurred in a parking lot at 2300 Nogales between the dates of 08-19-14 at 2100 hours and 08-20-14 at 0500 hours. During this time frame unknown suspect(s) stole a red Honda Generator, Model Eu6500is that was bolted to a metal plate in the bed of a 2014 white Ford truck that was parked at this location.

On Sunday, August 24th, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary call at Rocky Mountain Discount Sports. Investigator Gary Sams said the call came in about 5 am. Sams said two Mossberg pump action shotguns were taken. The shotguns were black, pistol grip, 18.5 inch barrel, without buttstocks. They were valued at approximately $400 each.

Sunday morning was a special time for Wyoming. It marked the end of a decades long attempt to bring lottery to the state, and long behold the first ticket sold was to Mary Ogg of Sheridan. In a special ceremony held at the Holiday Gas station on Brundage Lane, Ogg was able to purchase not only the first, but the second lottery ticket ever, as the new system officially launched. Death of a visitor following a fall is the second recorded in a week. Park personnel retrieved the body of a young girl from the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone after she fell to her death Sunday.
