GILLETTE, WY – Veronica Taylor, Director of Infection Control, Professional Development and Emergency Preparedness at Campbell County Memorial, has earned the Certified in Infection Control (CIC) credential from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC). The CBIC administers the exam certifying individuals have demonstrated a mastery of infection prevention and control knowledge.
The purpose of the certification process is to protect the public by providing standardized measurement of current basic knowledge needed for persons practicing infection control; encouraging individual growth and study, promoting professionalism among infection prevention and control professionals and recognizing those who fulfill the requirements of certification.
There are approximately 5,000 practitioners worldwide who are certified in infection control. Certification is maintained through successful completion of a recertification exam every five years.
Ms. Taylor has been employed by CCMH since 1991, as Education/Risk Manager, Hospital Supervisor and as Interim Manager of Infection Prevention and Professional Development. She has been in her current position for almost one year.
