Campbell County Public Land Board voted unanimously to contract with Dan Barks to serve as interim General Manager of CAM-PLEX at a special board meeting on December 3, 2013. Barks served as General Manager of CAM-PLEX for 22 years prior to his February 2013 retirement. The board charged Mr. Barks with leading the search for a new General Manager while keeping CAM-PLEX operations running smoothly. Campbell County Public Land Board intends to reinstate the contract with Prothman Company, executive search company, to assist in the hiring of the next General Manager. The contract with Prothman Company allowed for an additional executive search at no additional charge if the original candidate selected did not complete the minimum time of two years with CAM-PLEX.
Of being asked to serve as interim General Manager, Dan Barks commented: “First, I never expected to be in this position. My nearly quarter century commitment to CAM-PLEX and the great people who work there pushed me to ‘yes’ when I received a call to assist in the interim. CAM-PLEX and its quality staff will continue to serve the people of Campbell County with excellence. My first effort will be to reconnect with the CAM-PLE X staff and get a feeling for the direction they are heading.”
