January 9th Update: A 39-year-old Gillette man has been arrested in the investigation of a December 29th incident, were a 26-year-old man was found incoherent in the middle of 8th Street by Gillette Police Officers. Police found the man after being contacted by a 36-year-old woman who said her husband was on the way to the cemetery to fight the victim. Police say evidence at the scene indicted the victim had been run over by a vehicle. The 39-year-old suspect turned himself in at the Campbell County Detention Center yesterday.
December 31st Update: During a press briefing this morning, Gillette Police Lieutenant Brent Wasson provided some updates in the investigation. Wasson said the victim has since been released from the hospital after treatment for his injuries. He noted that charges are pending against the suspect, and the case remains under investigation.

At 3:13 am on December 29th, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 800 block of south Emerson Street. Sergeant Joe Baird said a 36-year-old female reported that her 39-year-old husband was on the way to fight a 26-year-old man at the cemetery. Baird said the woman stated something “bad” was going to happen.
Police found the 26-year-old man lying in the middle of 8th Street. Baird said the man was incoherent, and evidence at the scene indicated he had been run over by vehicle. He was transported the Campbell County Memorial Hospital with what Baird described as major injuries. Baird said the suspect vehicle was later located. The case remains under investigation.
