At tonight’s Campbell County School Board Meeting trustees will hear information on a possible restructuring of leadership. Yesterday Associate Superintendent for Instruction Dr. Boyd Brown provided an overview. Brown said in the past they have had an organizational chart that has two associate superintendents and their job descriptions that says when the superintendent is gone they are in charge.
“So there is no clear cut delineation. But informally over the last few years it’s been the associate superintendent for instruction who has always been kind of second in charge. And the associate superintendent for instructional support has always been the person in charge when he is gone.”---Brown
Brown said he will bring a proposal for a change to the board this evening to help clear up the hierarchy picture.
“I’m going to bring a recommendation to the board tonight to transfer Doctor (Alex) Ayers to the Deputy Superintendent of Schools for Instruction and that would be just formalizing what we have informally done over the last few years. So the instruction side would be number two in charge and the associate superintendent for instructional support would be the third in charge for the district.”---Brown
Brown said there has been some confusion over structuring in the past and he is hopeful this change will help prevent that in the future.
