The Campbell County Fire Department will hold a short service on Friday evening in memory of the 25th anniversary of the death of Campbell County Firefighter Alan Mickelson which occurred on January 31st, 1989 in the Antelope Valley Baptist Church fire.
The memorial is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. and is expected to last approximately 15 minutes.
It will include a short presentation by Assistant Chief Rod Warne about Alan's life and his legacy to the citizens of Campbell County and our department, the laying of a wreath by members of the Campbell County Fire Department's Honor Guard, and a closing prayer offered by Firefighter Bob Ernst.
The ceremony will be outside at 7 p.m. at the memorial at the Alan Mickelson Fire Training Center.
This ceremony is open to the public, and you are urged to bring members of your family, however, no seating will be provided so you will be standing for the short ceremony. (The training center is across the railroad tracks, north of fire station one.
