Suspect Arrested After Steel Pipe Beating

 GPD-Patch-Fixed A 18 year old Gillette man was arrested and taken to the Campbell County Detention Center this weekend.  The man was arrested on a felony charge of assault/battery in the early morning hours of October 14th.  Gillette Police Lieutenant Brent Wasson said the man is a suspect in the beating of another 18 year old male with a steel pipe. Two other men ages 18 and 19, are accused of helping the suspect hit the victim several times in the head with the steel pipe.  They are also accused of assaulting a 16 year old boy. 

 

Wasson said the 18 year old alleged victim had three lacerations on his head that had to be treated at the emergency room.  The suspect was arrested after an investigation.  As of early this morning the others suspects had not yet been contacted.  The initial police report did not note a motive for the alleged attack. The attack was reported about 10:40 PM on Oct 13th in the 1200 block of East 9th St.
