saacThe sixth annual Life RU Ready? event takes place this week at Cam-Plex's Energy Hall.  Keith Howard, Community Prevention Professional with the Substance Abuse Advisory Council, describes Life RU Ready as a life skills training program that originated in Campbell County Wyoming.  Howard says the event is designed to prepare junior high and high school students for real world choices they are often confronted with as well as the consequences of those choices.

"In the simulations law enforcement is not played by actors, real law enforcement from the Campbell County Sheriff's Office and Gillette Police Department participate, as well the folks from the mortuary do that kind of work here, and the judges are real judges."---Howard

Howard says the communities professionals work with the members a SAAC to bring real consequences to the minds of area teens.  Teens from many communities in the area will attend the event throughout the week and a special event for all with happen from 4pm - 7pm on Thursday October 25th.

"Parent Night opens the event up to the parents of the kids that will attend during the school day as well as the general public.  Adults as well as home schooled students are invited to come in and see the event and participate if they are interested."----Howard
