If you'd like to help out some of Wyoming's veterans this Christmas season there are some opportunities to be found around Gillette. One of those opportunities can be found at the Perkins Family Restaurant. For twelve years Terry Case of Gillette and others have been part of the Community Angel Tree Project. The tree and its wish list tags benefit veterans at the State Veterans Home in Buffalo Wyoming and well as veterans receiving treatment at the VA Hospital in Sheridan. By taking a tag off the tree at Perkins you can commit to helping one of Wyoming's many veterans with a basic necessity or a more unique item to brighten their Christmas. For more information call Case at 307-682-8257.
There are others ways for veterans in the area to benefit from the Christmas spirit as well. Robin Evenson and others with American Legion Auxiliary Post 42 will be placing a tree at the Legion on Dec 2. The tree will be for Gillette veterans and military families that may need a little help this Christmas. The tree will have tags with items of need. If anyone knows of a veteran or a military family in Gillette that may need a little help you are encouraged to please let them know. This will be the second year the American Legion Auxiliary Post 42 will set up the tree. Last year they were proud to be able to help many Gillette veterans and their families. For more information call Evenson at 307-660-8347.
