United Way of Campbell County falling short for Campaign 2013!

unitedway Gillette, WY – January 21, 2013 – United Way of Campbell County is in the final stretch of Campaign 2013 and we need your help to avoid a shortfall which will affect 15 Agencies right here in Campbell County!

Campaign 2013 will officially end on February 28th and we are currently at 90% of our goal of $575,000! What happens if we do not reach our goal? Fifteen agencies here in Campbell County will be affected. Fifteen agencies that are already facing budget cuts in some form from grants they have been able to rely on in the past. Fifteen agencies who are ALL relying heavily on funding from United Way of Campbell County. These agencies provide basic services such as food and shelter, and services for those affected by domestic violence, children who have witnessed or have been victims of abuse, and numerous other services. The individuals relying on these services seems to be endless…In 2012, Council of Community Services provided meals for 33,645 individuals through the soup kitchen and 221,788 meals through the food pantry. They provided shelter to 274 individuals and assisted 291 individuals through their loan program. Salvation Army provided assistance to 281 people from October to December of 2012 totaling $45,887, up $6,495 from the same period in 2011. You just don’t plan for needing these types of services, can you imagine if they weren’t available should you ever come to need them?
