At about 2:30 in the morning on January 23rd, a 33 year old woman was arrested on several misdemeanor charges. Detective Sergeant Joe Baird with the Gillette Police Department, said officers had been dispatched to a report of a possible domestic incident. A vehicle matching the description of a vehicle related to that incident was later spotted by an officer. The vehicle was stopped after allegedly running a stop sign at Wagonhammer Lane as it turned onto Boxelder Road. Officers said the woman had been drinking and was unable to complete maneuvers.
The women was arrested for DWUI and a stop sign violation. A charge of child endangerment and a call to the Department of Family Services later followed. Allegedly the women told officers at the Campbell County Detention Center that she had left her two children home alone. Baird said the woman told officers that she had left the children, ages 4 and 6 alone, because she was headed to her boyfriend's house to yell at him after he called her fat.
