Man Needed Surgery After Possible Street Fight

GPD-Patch-FixedAt about 11:46 pm on March 4th, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 2400 block of South Emerson Avenue.  It was reported that a fight was going on in the street. Gillette Police Lieutenant Brent Wasson said that when officers arrived, they found a 26-year-old man suffering from a puncture wound to his stomach.

 

 Wasson said the man was transported to the emergency room and required surgery. Wasson said investigators have spoke to the man since the surgery and also confirmed that at least one arrest was made in connection with the investigation. Wasson also confirmed that a knife believed to have been involved in the incident was recovered.  The investigation was ongoing as of Wasson's report this morning, he said more information is likely on Wednesday.
