Long time Campbell County Public Library System employee Terri Lesley has accepted the position of Executive Library Director according to Library Board Chairman Matt Sorenson. Her official starting date is April 28.
Lesley began working at Campbell County Public Library in 1996. Prior to her appointment as Director she held the position of Senior Financial Specialist. As a long term member of the library’s management team, she has watched the growth and changes in the libraries through two previous
“Terri has helped organize and oversee two major construction projects,” said Sorenson. “Both the Wright building and the 2007 Gillette remodel were under her watch.”
“As an administrative librarian, Terri has the best understanding of library budget, needs and expenditures,” according to Patty Myers, retiring director.
Lesley recently completed a Master’s in Library Science, and her administrative experience in the local library system garnered her much praise from the Selection Committee. She has served on county and library committees for HR, Personnel, IT, and Compensation. She currently serves
on the Wyoming State Library Shared Purchases Committee, and she has had the advantage of attending state and national library conferences and training.
Her skill with computers and her knowledge of internet based information has helped the library system stay abreast of rapidly changing sources of information and recreational reading.
“Campbell County has always been an energetic place to live and work. During my time here I have seen our library team serve our dynamic communities well,” said Lesley. “I am excited to be in a position to preserve the traditions of excellence and cutting edge library service
that our residents appreciate.”
Terri and her husband Doug have three children and four grandchildren.
