Yesterday (5-9-13) at 5:30 PM, the Campbell Count Sheriff's Office and Wyoming Game and Fish Department responded to a call about a mountain lion. The animal was west of Gillette at South Sage Hill Road. Undersheriff Scott Matheny said a 56-year-old man reported his dog located the animal in a culvert.
Game and Fish South Gillette Game Warden Dustin Kirsch said the adult mountain lion was observed as being calm and it was determined that nobody was at risk. It was decided to leave the animal alone and allow it to exit the area at night. WGF confirmed today the mountain lion had left the culvert. There were no reports of harm to people or pets.
