The Gillette Police Department continues to investigate a report by a 36-year-old man that three men came to his residence on May 11th, 2013, in an attempt to get him to fight. Police Lieutenant Brent Wasson said officers responded to the 1100 block of Desert Hills Circle about 10:49 pm. The 36-year-old man said that three men in their mid to late twenties tried to force their way into his apartment.
At one point, two of the men allegedly were able to gain entry into the apartment and one of the men, age 28, punched the resident in the face. Wasson said the 36-year-old retrieved a large cutlery knife and “struck” his alleged attacker. The three men fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers and as of early Monday morning, Wasson said they had not been contacted. Wasson said the investigation shows the 28-year-old who was “struck” with the knife was injured, but the extent of the injury was unknown as of Monday morning. Wasson said the investigation is on going.
