Research by the National Council for Behavioral Health, www.thenationalcouncil.org, demonstrates that the longer a person waits between seeking behavioral health care and actually receiving the services, the more likely they are to no-show for an appointment. Open access to behavioral health care will ensure that consumers get help when they need it. Research has also shown that offering same-day access will reduce no-shows, improve access, increase capacity, and improve client follow through and adherence to treatment. Best of all, open-access will allow Behavioral Health Services to better serve the citizens of Campbell County.
For all services, clients are seen on a first come, first served basis and are charged on a sliding fee scale—proof of income is required. Clients who come to BHS for an Addiction Severity Index (ASI) alcohol assessment must submit a $150 cash payment for services; certain exceptions may apply.
