The Gillette Police Department continues to investigate a report from a 13-year-old boy that he may have been the target of an attempted abduction on Friday night. Lt. Brent Wasson said the July 12th incident was reported about 8:42 p.m.
The 13-year-old said a Hispanic man with a bushy mustache and stubble haircut was driving a silver extended cab pickup with a black topper when he asked the 13-year-old to help him find a lost dog. The boy told the man he would not help look for the lost dog, he then also refused the offer of a ride home.
“We would remind everyone to not get into a vehicle with strangers and to seek an adult if confronted by someone they don’t know and requested to assist them or get into a vehicle.”---Wasson
