Chamber of Commerce will host a Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) parent and student information night. This meeting is to inform interested students currently in grades 6-12 and their families about the YEA! program coming to Campbell County starting in October.
Attendees will learn about the structure, curriculum, and application process for the YEA! program. Business leaders can learn how to get involved with YEA! as a mentor, guest lecturer, field trip host or even as a sponsor. Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) officials have detected a significant increase in Campbell County cryptosporidium infections and recommend residents take safety measures when swimming to prevent further spread of the disease.
“As of August 25 we have 30 reported cases of cryptosporidium infection in Campbell County,” said Kelly Weidenbach, surveillance epidemiologist with the WDH Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program. “This is higher rate than usual, especially since July 1.” Many of the reported cases were in families where multiple people in one family were ill. At the September 9th Gillette City Council workshop, a discussion on salary and City Council compensation is expected to take place. Not all the council members are welcoming the discussion, but Gillette Mayor Tom Murphy said it’s time the conversation played out.
