Thursday, April 18th, began a two-day radio-thon on 100.7 The Fox and two other radio stations in Wyoming. All three are owned by Legend Communications, LLC, Wyoming's largest radio group with 17 stations total. Folks were busy at the phones for 12 hours both days taking calls from all over the region. Jaymie Hardtarfer, Marketing representative for St. Jude (Denver Office), said on Wednesday that to that point Legend Communications had raised $596,000. Also, more than 200 radio stations across the county have raised over $400 million since the program began in 1989.
On April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Gillette Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your medications for disposal to Smith’s Food Center at 906 Camel Drive, Gillette WY. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

At 9:49 p.m. on April 16th, the Campbell County Fire Department responded to the City Water Treatment Facility for a chlorine alarm, upon arrival crews worked with the City Water Dept. to isolate a small chlorine leak in some tubing connected to a 1 ton chlorine cylinder. Per protocol the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security was notified and a regional response was authorized.
