A larger crowd than is typical attended last nights Gillette City Council Meeting. One of the items drawing public comment was the councils first of three readings of an ordinance to amend a section of Gillette city code concerning water wasting. On February 19th, the Gillette City Council held a public hearing to consider the renewal of liquor licenses in Gillette for the licensing period of April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014. During that public hearing, regional businessman, Doug Davis, talked to the council about his hopes to bring a Buffalo Wild Wings location to Gillette in 2014. A little after 10 am yesterday morning, a seventeen-year-old female fled from the custody of the Campbell County Sheriffs Office. Campbell County Sheriff, Bill Pownall said the female had been transported for a medical appointment and fled a local doctor's office. Yesterday evening the Gillette Police Department responded to the four hundred block of Rohan Ave, where a 37-year-old driver was accused of trying to flee an accident. Just after 1 am on February 14th, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office responded to the 7100 block of Robin Drive. Campbell County Sheriff Bill Pownall said his agency received a report of a family fight in progress. Deputies were told that a 37-year-old Steven Saathoff had threatened to shoot his 58-year-old mother.
