The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in the investigation into the armed robbery of the Antelope Valley Kwik Shop. This morning the Campbell County Sheriff's Office confirmed that an armed robbery was reported Wednesday night at the Antelope Valley Kwik Shop. Lieutenant Eric Seeman said a suspect displayed a firearm and made threats, before fleeing the area with an undisclosed amount of cash. More information and a description will be provided as it becomes available. Seeman said the call came in at 8:59 PM Wednesday.

On September 14, 2012 at 9:30 AM, there will be a special ground breaking ceremony at Lasting Legacy Park in Gillette. Everett Boss with the local Bricks For Vets Committee says a space will be prepared for sculptures by Lander artist Ben Foster. Noted Wyoming author Craig Johnson will appear at the Campbell County Public Library in Gillette this week. The Walt Longmire Mystery Series author will tell stories about the making of the TV series based on his books. The new series "Longmire" airs Sundays at 8 PM on A&E. The September 14th, Meet The Author Night event will take place at 6 PM.
The event is part of the One Book, One Community series presented by the local Gillette and Wright Libraries. The local public is encouraged to read The Dark Horse which is part of the Walt Longmire Mystery Series, watch "Longmire" on Sundays and attend both the Meet The Author Event and an After-Hours Book Discussion at CCPL October 5th. Gillette--Yesterday evening at Cam-Plex, local and state officials gathered with emergency responders and the public to honor the fallen of the September 11th, 2001 attacks. The event also heaped praise on the emergency responders of that day, as well as the day to day service of emergency responders around the country. At the Monday night Gillette City Council Workshop the council members took in information on the subject of itinerant merchants. On Monday, city administrator Carter Napier said some council members have heard complaints about the ability of out of town sale-persons to sell their wares door to door, while at the same time local business owners are not afforded the same access to potential costumers.
