West Boxelder Road Closure

cityThe City of Gillette Engineering and Development Services Department has announced that West Boxelder Road will be closed from Granite Street to 4-J Road commencing Monday, April 1, 2013. This is a result of the Boxelder Road Extension, Phase II-B Project.

Over 100 Gallons of Diesel Spilled in Crash

fire truck 1At 12:47 p.m. the Campbell County Fire Department responded to the intersection of W. Lakeway Road and Skyline Drive for a two vehicle collision.  Fire department personnel were requested to mitigate a fuel leak from a semi truck.  Authorities believe the leak was contained at 120-200 gallons of diesel fuel.  Gillette Police Lieutenant Brent Wasson said that the were were no serious injuries. Have You Seen Me? Shelter Had Over 1,100 Reports Last Year.

dog  In 2012, City of Gillette Animal Control Officers filed over 1,100 lost and found reports. The 4,024 calls for service in 2012 averaged 11.2 calls per day and 1,118 lost and found reports filed.  With consistently warmer weather on the way and many animals about the spend more of their time outside, it is a good time to assure your pets are prepared for a safe summer. School Trustees Plan For Future Growth

ccsdThe capacity study for Campbell County School District #1 was completed on March 25, 2013. During the study, MOA Architecture and the district considered several possible scenarios to address capacity issues in the district.  Of the five scenarios selected for final consideration, MOA Architecture recommended Scenario #2 as the most cost effective remedy.  Scenario #2 was described by MOA Architecture as: Move 9th grade into the high school system; South Campus is 9-10; North Campus is 11-12; Renovate junior high schools to meet classroom capacity requirements; Build new K-6 elementary schools.

Man's Mystery Woman Disappears With His Truck

police badge 2At 6:41 pm on March 24th, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 700 Block of Vivian Street, after a 34-year-old man reported his 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 was stolen from his residence. The man told officers that he met a woman on a Internet site and picked her up at a bus station in S.D. Annual Veterans Welcome Home Day

vetLocal veterans will be holding a welcome home veterans ceremony at Rozet School on Wednesday March 27, 2013. This is an annual event, which local veterans have been hosting for the past seven years. The day of welcoming veterans was codified in state law in 2011 by the Legislature.  All Wyoming veterans, especially those from the Korean War, Vietnam War, and other veterans who were not properly thanked upon their return home, are invited to attend and receive the welcome and thanks. Crime Stoppers Needs Help Solving Larceny

crimeCrime Stoppers needs your help in solving a larceny that occurred at 1912 Ratcliff Drive between March 5th and March 11th. Within this time frame unknown suspect(s) stole a 2009 black flatbed Yacht Club trailer that contained two Yamaha Mountain Max snow machines.  Descriptions of the snow machines are blue with yellow trim and purple with black trim.
